What are some of the factors you should consider when setting up class eligibility in the open enrollment dashboard?

When setting up your open enrollment for benefits-eligible employees:

  • All classes must be assigned to either the eligible or ineligible columns. At least one class must be marked as eligible.

  • Classes that have been end-dated or set up as ineligible for benefits at the company level will be automatically marked as ineligible for Open Enrollment.

  • If you add a new class in Company > Settings after completing this page, you’ll need to return to it and assign the new class to an eligibility column.

can different benefits be included in open enrollment for different classes?

Yes, benefits can be mapped in the Open Enrollment based on the class. Refer to Using the Open Enrollment Dashboard for more information.

Will the employees who did not complete their enrollment be auto-enrolled under a passive enrollment configuration?

With a Passive Open Enrollment configuration, employees who do not complete enrollment will be auto-enrolled into plans based on mapping completed by the benefits administrator.

Tip:

Selecting Passive Enrollment does not mean employees must be auto-enrolled in all offered benefits—you can select the coverage types for which you want to offer passive enrollment.

Can employees enroll in flexible spending accounts in a passive open enrollment?

Flexible spending accounts are not eligible for passive enrollment (when applicable). Refer to Benefit Mapping for Passive Open Enrollment and Non-Waivable Plans for more information.

In the status chart, which status will be assigned to an employee that has completed their enrollment, clicked submit, but has not had their elections approved by an administrator?

Employees who have submitted their enrollment but have not had it confirmed by an administrator will be listed under the Submitted status. For more information regarding the Status Chart, read Using the Open Enrollment Dashboard.

Which column cannot be sorted in the employee enrollments tab of the open enrollment dashboard?

The Details column cannot be sorted in the Employee Enrollments tab. However, the Last NameStatus, and Email Address columns can be sorted.

Where can I manage the open enrollment life event?

The Open Enrollment Life Event is managed in your HRIS site > Manage Benefits.

If I have carrier feeds, can i submit a project during open enrollment for it to be reviewed and updated?

If you have Carrier Feeds - they need to be maintained and updated each year that your company goes through Open Enrollment. The first step to updating your Carrier Feeds is completing our Open Enrollment Assessmentas soon as you have finalized your renewal decisions. Once that's completed, you must submit OE Carrier Feed Review & Modification project through the Project Services Catalog to ensure that mandatory updates are made to your feeds to reflect your new plan information.

Tip:

If Namely is your broker, we'll complete the assessment and submit the project on your behalf!
